Wipro Technologies Thursday said it had appointed a new CFO effective immediately after the international technology services and consulting company’s finance chief said he would resign.

Aparna Iyer, a 20-year Wipro veteran, is replacing Jatin Dalal as CFO of the company with headquarters in East Brunswick, N.J. and Bengaluru, India.

Dalal Tuesday submitted his letter of resignation, a copy of which was filed with Indian and U.S. regulatory agencies. In his letter, addressed to Wipro CEO and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte, Dalal wrote that he was “deeply grateful to Wipro for the multitude of opportunities given to me over last two decades.”

Dalal also wrote that he is “eager to pursue my professional goals outside the organization,” and that his last day with Wipro will be November 30.ADVERTISEMENT

Iyer joined Wipro in early April as the company’s senior internal auditor, and since then has gradually worked her way up in the company’s financial department. She has since January served as senior vice president of finance at Wipro.

Wipro, which is listed No. 15 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500, responded to a CRN request for further information that the company is not doing further interviews on the CFO change.

Delaporte, in a statement, called Iyer an accomplished and results-driven leader.

“Throughout her 20-year career with Wipro, she has been a dynamic, forward-thinking strategic partner to our business leaders. Aparna has been integral to our finance transformation over the last few years, playing a key role in our financial strategy and planning, investment programs, and transformation initiatives. Her commitment to creating lasting value, expertise across the full spectrum of finance operations, and her experience in working with a range of stakeholders will be instrumental in achieving our financial objectives,” Delaporte said in his statement.

He also thanked Dalal for his contributions to Wipro, and wished him the best in his future endeavors.

Iyer, in a prepared statement, said she is “thrilled” to take on Wipro’s CFO role.

“As we continue our transformation journey, I look forward to working with Thierry, our finance team and the entire organization to build on our successes, drive sustainable growth, and create value for our stakeholders,” she said in the statement.

Wipro shares fell by about 1.5 percent to $5.11 per share halfway through the Thursday trading day.
