3 all-time best Marriott bonus offers
The welcome bonuses for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant are only available for a limited time (ending May 13, 2026). The Marriott Bonvoy Business card’s offer doesn’t have an end date.
Marriott Bonvoy Bevy® American Express® Card
Through May 13, 2026, you can earn 175,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in purchases within the first six months of card membership.
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card
Through May 13, 2026, you can earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 in purchases within the first six months of card membership.
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
The Amex Bonvoy Business card has a tiered welcome offer. You’ll earn three Free Night Awards after spending $6,000 in purchases and two more Free Night Awards after spending an additional $3,000 in purchases ($9,000 in total) on the card in the first six months.
How to maximize the Marriott credit card welcome bonuses
Marriott generally offers two types of welcome bonuses: points or Free Night Awards. The points bonuses are straightforward since you know exactly what you can earn. Free Night Awards expire one year after they’re issued and are limited in value.
It would be fairly easy to book a five-night stay at a reasonably priced Marriott property with any of these new, enhanced offers. That’s an incredible opportunity to unlock with a single credit card application (after meeting the spending requirement, of course).
Consumer cards bonuses
Both limited-time offers on the consumer Bonvoy cards give you more redemption options compared to the business card bonus, but they may offer less value for higher-end hotels. You could stretch your points further with Marriott’s “Stay for 5, Pay for 4” feature, which lets you book a five-night points stay for the cost of four nights. This benefit doesn’t apply to Free Night Award redemptions.
Plus, you can book more nights if you opt for a cheaper hotel with the points bonuses. If you find a Marriott that only costs 25,000 per night (it’s possible, especially if you find a PointSavers deal), you could book eight or nine nights (factoring in the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 benefit) with the bonuses from the Bonvoy Bevy or Bonvoy Brilliant cards. However, for hotels that cost over 50,000 points per night, the Bonvoy Business card’s offer could be better if you have enough points to top off the awards.
Business card bonus
With the current Marriott Bonvoy Business card offer, each Free Night Award is valid for hotel nights costing up to 50,000 points and can be topped off with up to 25,000 points. So if you already have a cache of Marriott points, you could book five nights at a Marriott property that costs up to 75,000 points per night.
On the surface, the Bonvoy Business card’s offer is worth up to 250,000 points and is the most valuable of the three offers. But you’re giving up flexibility because of the Free Night Award expiration dates, and if you book less expensive hotels, you’ll get less value. If the hotel you want only costs 35,000 points a night, you won’t get 15,000 points back. That means you’ll never get more than five nights out of this offer.
Tip: Do you qualify for a Marriott credit card bonus?
American Express typically limits you to earning a card’s welcome offer once per lifetime. In addition, both Chase and Amex issue Marriott Bonvoy credit cards, so there are extra (convoluted) eligibility guidelines. What that means is, it’s extremely difficult to qualify for more than one Bonvoy bonus — unless you qualify for a business card, which is often treated separately.
